Tidewater Landing House Plan and Low Country Crab Boil

August 31, 2020   |   Newsletter
AUGUST IS CRAB MONTH
August is a special month in Cumberland Harbour!  It is when we hold our Annual Crab Tourney, but due to COVID-19, this year’s tournament has been canceled.  However, this has not deterred most residents; especially those who love to fish and crab.
If you own a boat or have a friend who owns a boat (even better!), or want to fish or crab from one of our park areas such as South Point, all you need is a string, some bait, and a net or a crab trap.
Crabs are relatively easy to catch, cook and clean.  Crab boils are a way of life in the South and there’s no better shellfish to eat!  In celebration of our local crabs, this week’s recipe is a crab boil you will love!

Crab Boil with Beer and Old Bay Recipe

Blue crabs can be found throughout the East Coast when in season, which typically lasts from late April to October. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on some live blue crabs, there’s no better way to enjoy them than in an old-fashioned crab boil, or “crab feast.”

Home Plan of the Week!
Introducing a new home plan from
Southern Living
Tidewater Landing
Plan SL-1240
In last week’s newsletter, our home plan was The Craven taken from Allison Ramsey Architects and we also featured a cabana room which can be utilized for an elderly parent, an adult child, or a guest suite.  In this week’s newsletter we are featuring a home with a large square footage, again, for the multi-generational family or guests.  This home would look amazing on a double homesite in a second row marsh front area with a great view!
