Home Plans of the Week!
When the corona virus struck our country, we’ve all had to make many changes, sacrifices and cancel or postpone vacation plans, parties, weddings, etc.  Many people are re-evaluating their lives, where they work, and where they live and play.  Many want to leave the crowded and congested areas where they currently live and may want to bring their family along with them.  That may include an elderly parent or an adult child.  People are looking for more space; playrooms for their children, home offices, in-law suites or separate wings for additional family members.  We are showcasing a home plan for just such an instance.
This home plan taken from Allison Ramsey Architects website is called The Craven.  This home features four bedrooms, three and one-half baths for an overall spacious 2,182 square feet.  As we’ve mentioned with previous plans, this is home has an open floor plan and beautiful outdoor living spaces for those great autumn and spring days!  If you love this plan as much as we do, call us today to schedule a tour and put this home on your new homesite in Cumberland Harbour!
Focal points are important, especially when you first walk into a home.  This brick fireplace and custom mantel draws your eye inward to an inviting space.
Another view of the living room and the beautiful wrought iron and wood railings.
An oversized island gives plenty of work space for more than one person as well as a gathering place for the family and entertaining.
A large island also gives more seating space and wine storage.
You can keep an eye on the kiddos watching TV while prepping dinner.
The adjoining dining area gives this space a more open feel and is a great space for entertaining.
The master offers plenty of natural lighting as well as high ceilings and beautiful molding.
An oversized master bath with dual sinks.
The bath and shower area is oversized with dual rain shower heads and a gorgeous soaking tub.  We love the river stone tile–it’s a massage for your feet!
The front porch with inviting wooden and glass doors.
With multiple porches there is room for everyone!
This one car garage with a carport area could also be used for golf cart storage or a two car garage, if space permits.
Barn doors are so popular right now and they look great on this garage.
A full view of The Craven.
The first floor layout has plenty of room for privacy, entertaining and storage.
The second floor has three bedroom and two baths.  This could easily be converted to a two bedroom with one of the bedrooms being oversized or keep one as a playroom or office.
We have several clients looking for a mother-in-law suite, cabana building, or a simple second structure to house an adult child, aging parent, or a home office.  This plan shown here would suit any of the above.  This plan could be very flexible based on one’s needs.  Larger living space, smaller kitchen, or no kitchen,  could be adjusted according to one’s needs.  Working with one of Cumberland Harbour’s Signature Builders and an architect could make your dreams come true!
All home plans are subject to review by Cumberland Harbour’s Design Review Board (DRB).

  • 1/4 teaspoon dried sage

  • Slowly add the milk, whisking vigorously, and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and stir in cream.
  • Pour roux mixture into the soup pot and stir until smooth. Cook for a few more minutes. Taste broth and add additional seasonings, if needed.
  • Reduce the heat to low and return chicken and add cooked rice to the soup. Serve warm.
